                                                                                                          Out & About

As the name suggests Casitamar is a front-line 'home from home' just moments from the unspoilt beaches of the Bahia de Casares. No driving nor crossing any roads to access the sand and surf...just step out and stroll across a few metres of manicured lawn where the shimmering blues of the Mediterranean awaits.

In nearby Duquesa Marina to the south and a few kms from Estepona Marina to the north, boats and jet-skis are for hire...or take an organized charter on a sunset cruise, go deep sea fishing or learn to scuba dive to explore the depths. For those less active watch the huge flocks of gulls and cormorants dive bombing the waters when the sardines are close to shore. If lucky one of the local dolphin pods will make an appearance...so venture out on a kayak or paddle board to watch them close up.

With over 70 first rate golf courses spread over the entirety of the Costa del Sol you will be spoilt for choice. Closest to you is upmarket Finca Cortesin or  more affordable Doña Julia. For something different try the fastest growing sport on the coast: Casares Foot Golf!

Ride through rivers and near the beach arranged by Casares stables or hike the multitude of inland pathways just a few kms back from the coast.

Casares village is 14kms inland and provides a striking difference to the coastal developments. A typical white washed village perched on a mountain...take time to explore the sleepy streets and hike up to the hilltop ruins or wonder around the Casa Natal of Blas Infante.

Duquesa Castle will enlighten you with stories of past battles...and now provides a venue and museum of all things to do with the noble art of fencing.

Estepona is your nearest town and is a delight in itself boasting a long sandy beach and a network of cobbled streets bedecked in flowerpots and floral decorations thanks to an enlightened and ever-popular mayor. Weekly markets (Wednesdays & Sundays) are vibrant and draw in shoppers from all around. Here and elsewhere there are no end of restaurants, bars and shops.

A day trip to historic Ronda is highly recommended (75kms) and Marbella is a direct 20 minute autopista drive away (40kms).
